The story unfolds slowly about a single woman and her 4 kids, who must at all times stay hidden in the family appartment. Quietly the family of 5 goes about its business and one realises that it is societal convention, which keeps them hidden from the public.
As the mother frequently disappears one is drawn into the shock of the 4 children trying to deal with their life alone, until the bitter ending.
