Review of Nobody Knows (2004) by Daniel O — 26 Jul 2009
Terribly sad and full of despair, this interesting movie is almost fully played by little children, who of course bear the whole weight of the storyline. Four siblings live together with an irresponsible mother.
She's had them almost in secret and hides the three younger of them hidden, leaving the eldest of them in charge of everything while she's constantly away trying to find a new boyfriend. The kids show far more maturity than her but still they wanna remain together, so they never go to the police.
Eventually, the mother leave them completely, and the problems begin to appear in every single way. Beautifully directed, very well developed, but maybe a little bit overlengthed and slow, the film will definitely touch you and make you feel very sad and willing to help the little boys as if they were your own.
A fantastic story, a real must-see.
