Darren Aronofsky handles the bizzare and incoherent source material with grace, feeling, and clarity, turning a morally and intellectually bankrupt myth into a modern cinema classic while giving birth to Russell Crowe's single greatest performance.
Bravo. We would be lucky to see more mythological films from this visionary director.
