Review of No One Knows About Persian Cats (2009) by Marta K — 22 Apr 2010
The almost two hours of a capturing story intertwined with amazing music of all possible types passed like a moment. It presents again how culture is inextricably linked with revolution, how artistic expression is exposed to the harshest oppression and how in spite of all that the Iranians continue to give hope by producing music. Whether heart-warming or raising consciousness or commenting on reality.
I long for the soundtrack, even though I will not understand the lyrics, let me appreciate it in my shallow beauty-oriented Western way.
