Review of No Man's Land (2001) by Noah E — 15 Oct 2011
No Man's Land covered such a spectrum of emotions within its relatively short run time and made all of them seem so real. This film boils war down to the essence of the struggle. Two men on "opposite" sides of the battle realize too late that they are only separated by a line on a map, nothing more in this grim and at-times comic tale.
While the grim message and overall final point is somewhat blurred by the comedy the film shows, No Man's Land is a great example of foreign filmmaking and my personal first from the region.
