Review of No Escape (2015) by Jacqueline F — 07 Sep 2015
I deducted a star for shaky cam, which was overused and overdone. The rest of the movie ranged from pretty good to great. Wilson overcomes his usual typecasting and turns in a solid performance, add do the rest of the cast.
While the world has a wide variety of norms and value systems and a richness is found in most, this film is not about that. For the academically informed informed critic, or the vacationer who sips wine from a well policed balcony, it's xenophobic, for those of us who have experienced situations even remotely similar, the movie does a good job of capturing the thoughts and emotions that run through your mind.
