Review of No Escape (2015) by Lee A — 24 Aug 2015
I just got back tonight from watching an early showing of No Escape in Cookeville, Tennessee. I had been dying to see it since the ads first started showing in commercials about a month ago. I'm a fan of Owen Wilson's more comedic roles and in my movie-watching experience, comedians transitioning to serious roles have often done superb jobs.
Wilson impressed me with his acting in such a new role for him and I didn't think Pierce Brosnan still had what it took to impress me on screen but he truly did in this film. He stole every scene he took part in, his performance was just magnetic in my opinion.
There were slow parts at the movie, especially in the beginning. I'm not going to pretend there weren't. But overall it kept a good pace once it got going and the action scenes were, to put it mildly, intense. I felt genuinely scared as if this was a horror film, not an action film. I've rarely felt that way watching any movie. I highly enjoyed the movie and I hope to watch it again soon.
