Review of No Escape (2015) by Laura S — 29 Aug 2015
I think professional critics forget sometimes that sometimes a movie is "just a movie". I would say there were many more good things about this movie than bad. There were so many intense scenes and the terror was relentless. And even if some things may have been unrealistic - like I'm not really sure it was feasible to jump across those roofs and toss their children across, but it definitely was an exciting scene. I also thought it was interesting how much dialogue the two little girls were given and how many action scenes they were in. It was kind of interesting how big their roles were in such an intense, bloody movie - especially since their parents probably won't let them see it until they're older.
Overall, I thought it was very good and Owen Wilson was surprisingly good in a serious role as an ordinary man in an extraordinary situation. Lake Bell also did a great job.
