Review of No Escape (2015) by G.m. W — 16 May 2017
Writer and Director, John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine, and As Above, So Below) writes a screenplay with his brother, Drew Dowdle, who also produced the film, about a coup or political revolution that breaks out in Asia.
Owen Wilson and Lake Bell play husband and wife with two little daughters, who all go to Asia on a business trip, and are right in the middle of a violent political uprising that ensues. Owen Wilson is great in this very serious role, and also brings a lightheartedness when necessary.
Lake Bell is great as this mother who is sensitive, but can be hands on when needed. This film is an action packed white-knuckled thriller, that will keep you on edge from beginning to end.
