Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Nate J — 16 Aug 2013
I think (other than True Grit) this is the highest rating I would ever give a Coen Brothers movie. I usually can't stand their work, it's usually so bland and never really stands out. True Grit made me have a little rethink on that summary and NCFOM has done the same.
The cast are brilliant, Javier in particular standing out as a work of genius. But the story is very basic, it's not particularly wordy, and yet still holds the viewers attention and keeps people engaged.
Good solid movie.
