"Nixon" is a lengthy, but completely engaging and sharply observed film that is strengthened by the direction of Oliver Stone. Anthony Hopkins sidesteps turning his performance into an imitation of Nixon (something Josh Brolin failed to do in 2008's "W.
") and embodies the controversial figure. It covers a wide range of territory and never lost focus, which is tricky with a film of this proportion.
