Review of Ninja (2009) by Robert H — 24 Jan 2011
While Ninja may not be a good film by any stretch, it manages to capture the feel of those campy 80s ninja movies while adding new, flashier fight sequences to form a damn fun time.
I'll give fight choreographer Akihiro Noguchi all the credit here. As good as Scott Adkins and Tsuyoshi Ihara are, it was the fight choreography that made them look that much better.
Of course, Akihiro Noguchi is most known for his work on Power Rangers, so putting together fight sequences for people dressed in black masks probably had him feeling right at home.
If you aren't into films like American Ninja or old Chuck Norris movies, this probably isn't your thing.
