Review of Nikita (1990) by Ian S — 24 Aug 2008
Although not a pulse-pounding thriller, this movie has some cred. First of all, Victor the Cleaner. I loved him. Second of all, the fiance. I loved him, too.
The rest of the film? Take it or leave it, really. At times, it is artful and interesting, but most of the time I had a hard time paying attention. The first half of the film is so mind-numbingly dull, I can't believe it. It doesn't help Nikita is such an annoying character.
The second half of the film is much more intriguing, but filled with plot holes. How did the fiance know? What the hell was happening with the plan? What the hell happened at the end? I don't know. I really don't feel like attempting to watch it again to find out any time soon.
