Review of Nikita (1990) by Naische F — 21 Apr 2009
Wonderful presentation in BluRay. This is 'My Fair Lady' with a spy twist! French director Luc Besson at the top of his game before his ego got to him and lost the plot. Very simple story but with elegant characterisations.
Anne Parrilaud is convincing as the troubled assassin. Wonderful soundtrack by Eric Serra (before 'Goldeneye'). My only complaint was that some of the missions were not smooth and too jagged, especially Jeno Reno's bit.
This is still vastly superior to the frame-by-frame Hollywood remake, 'Point of No Return'.
