Review of Nikita (1990) by Brian S — 15 Mar 2012
Thought it was decent. Parillaud is an acceptable heroine, although she's by no means outstanding. for whatever reason I kept comparing her to Franka Potente from Run Lola Run....completely different movies and characters, but that was my unusual standard.
I thought the thriller elements faded a bit as the story progressed....it became more of a character study about a woman having to live both the life she wants to have and the life the government wants her to have.
this isn't a bad thing, although the intensity didn't always seem all it was cracked up to be. overall an enjoyable movie, though, and a solid work from Luc Besson.
