Review of Nights in Rodanthe (2008) by Bob S — 22 Jul 2009
Lane and Gere team up again to play conflicted characters (Adrienne & Paul) at major crossroads in this adaptation of Nicholas Sparksâ?? romantic novel. Both are looking for some time alone at the North Carolina coast to evaluate their quandaries.
The ex-husband and rebellious teenage daughter stories help you understand Adrienneâ??s emotional state; however, the widower and estranged son stories seem inconsistent with Paulâ??s compassion and patience.
The ending would have been better if it wasnâ??t so rushed as its effect was dampened by a lack of time to deeply consider the feelings written between the lines of their long-distance letters. You may not think a romance like this would be Blu-ray-worthy, but the seascape explodes with colour in HD.
