Review of Nightmare Alley (2021) by Fuad_Rmnm — 10 Mar 2022
One of the best movies for 2021.
This movie quality is unexpected and splendidly satisfying. I’ve didn’t expect anything from this movie which back then I really didn’t know if this movie was a remake from Nightmare Alley (1947). The main reason I’m going to this movie in a cinema is caused of the big name of the cast members and director. Nightmare Alley (2021) is directed by Guillermo Del Toro through 2 hr 30 min with the big name of the cast’s which Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Willem Dafoe, Toni Collete, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen, David Strathairn, Holt McCallany, Paul Anderson, and the others.
In my POV, this movie is the best movie I've ever seen in the past few months. From every aspect, this movie is really amazing through well-narrated, cinematography, perfect vintage ambiance tone, mesmerizing vintage property and costumes, and nevertheless the acting. Besides that, this movie is really insightful for explaining a glimpse of post-World War II; social gap, psychological scam, mentalism, and carnival industries in back old days. We can also learn moral values and some technical about vintage cinematography and movie directing. The only cons for this movie are the long duration, rushed ending, and felt like a forced romance story. The romance didn't well explain and convincing enough which is just typical of classical movies - the man met the girl and both of them fall in love. Overall, it's still one of the best movies I've ever seen which have proven through four nominations on the 94th Academy Award. Sadly, this movie flops at the Box Office which lower income than the production budget may be caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
