Visually impeccable and totally delicious, maybe del Toro's most atmospheric film yet. With flawless production values, it gives a brilliant insight into the ugliness of carny life and the grifters tricks.

All performances were seriously great - Blanchett redefines 1940's noir glamour. Visceral at times, it probably could have been even more compelling at exposing the hideous underbelly of the fairground world.

A fantastic third act ties it all together by bringing the protagonist full circle. A film to watch over and over to see the fine details.
