Review of Nighthawks (1981) by Suveera A — 06 Jan 2008
Outside the Rocky and Rambo series, this tautly suspenseful action-thriller is indeed one of Sylvester Stallone's best efforts as he steps into a completely different role and look that is quite admirably challenged by the total evil authenticity of the brilliantly chilling Rutger Hauer.
The two embark on a cat-and-mouse chase that takes them everywhere in the urban landscape. Stallone's cop Deke DeSilva is forced to take on Hauer's terrorist Wulfgar. The names are coolly extreme enough, with the two personalities battling it out to the end.
