Review of Nightcrawler (2014) by Pavan K — 21 Jun 2015
Completely fictitious.. I lived in LA all my life they never air anything remotely close.. Networks can't air anything with blood in the frame nor buy amateur footage...all our major news coverage rarely come from freelancers they have their own professional in-house production crew.
. Even if they did they wouldn't be able to cross police lines or move a body to get a shot or allowed to contaminate a crime scene and NOT be reprimanded for it or at least imprisoned since that is a crime.
Maybe I'm being too technical but I find it so common that Hollywood blurred these lines of ethical indiscretion just to make a good movie... And the cops never trail side by side with a suspect ever.
Pit maneuvers are only as a last resort and only from behind. A bystander trailing like he did will get him arrested. I guess I was expecting something a little more factual since it has such high ratings.
Anyone can get a good story when it's made up but it takes a real genius to make the truth worth watching. Why let the truth get in the way of a good story right. However, it is effective in its character study but the fact that I cannot relate to any of the characters made it uninteresting to me.
