Review of Nightcrawler (2014) by Danny O — 19 May 2015
Nightcrawler is a thrilling and very well made movie. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance as the crazy Lou Bloom is phenomenal. The screenplay is very original and well written, and the overall cast does a great job.
The pacing is pretty spot on, and the movie's message is very thought provoking. The thrilling and surprising finale elevates this disturbed take to another level. The movie is very unpredictable and well filmed.
The movie isn't perfect, and you're really not rooting for anybody, and it isn't all that rewatchable. Nightcrawler is an excellent and memorable film. Nightcrawler gets 4/5 stars (A-).
