The movie fails to fully explain whats really going on. we are taken to an underground city called midian, full of monsters called collectively as the nightbreed, but it is never clear as to what the nightbreed actually is.
as a low budget b-horror movie, it is great, and for those who know that this is actually based on a short story called Cabal, you'll know that the guy who wrote the book, Clive Barker also directed the movie and wrote the screen play, so we are getting a true and accurate portrayal of Clive Barker's vision for the story Cabal, which is an excellent story I might add.
