Review of Nightbreed (1990) by Diana S — 15 Jun 2013

So I finally took this one down after years of wanting to see what all the hype was about.

I will say I really liked Sheffer here as the lead, and the monster designs and all the old school effects for them really gave the movie a great edge.

But story wise, the thing was choppy as all heck, not to mention all over the place. Seemed like big chunks were missing everywhere, but I guess there's a much longer director's cut out there somewhere.

And while sometimes creepy, Cronenberg continues to prove to me he is just a awful actor. When he isn't behind the mask so to speak, he is just bad bad bad.

The final show down was fun, there just seemed to be much to missed opportunities on this one. Sadly.
