Review of Night School (1981) by Orlando D — 27 Apr 2012
Back in 1981 when it seems like every weekend a slasher film was released, Night School was no better nor different. The plot, or lackof, is simple:A homicidal maniac in Boston wearing motorcycle gear and brandishing a wicked looking knife kills young women who's attending the same Anthroplogy class by decapitating them and submerging their heads in water as the killer is reeancting the primal culture in Papua New Guinea.
What gives Night School some class it's direction by Ken Hughes(Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)and a great score that adds to the tension. The acting is fine as this is Rachel Ward's film debut(The Thorn Birds) but besides those fine qualities, this is all this movie has going for it.
