Review of Night on Earth (1991) by Arin D — 10 Apr 2010
The idea was always right, but the quality of the stories varied. I suppose in the end the bitter-sweetness of the blind girl in the cab in Paris-story; and the black humor of the Rome-Roberto Benigni story resonate.
The one in Helsinki was just a slow relaying of tragedy, LA and Gena Rowlands (looking great) was nothing more than a character study for dear old Winona. Could have been more.
