I remember seing the original Night of the Living Dead by George Romero about 3 or 4 years ago and it scared the living crap out of me. Now I've finally seen the remake directed by makeup artist Tom Savini and how does it hold up? Well, it's not scarier or better than the original, that's for sure.

However, I still did find it interesting and bearable for me to sit through the whole film without rolling my eyes. The film pretty much follows the script from the original with some new dialogue added to garner an R rating.

I really liked Tony Todd in this film. He was incredibly creepy and the best actor in the bunch. I also loved the zombies. Even though they were incredibly slow (in fact, they should stay slow), they were terrifying, especially when their numbers grew.

Some of the acting in this film was pretty poor, particularly in the beginning with Johnny. He just seemed more annoying in this film than he was in the original. The part of this film that I couldn't stand was the ending.

I don't want to spoil anything, but it's pretty bad. However, it also does set up a rule about zombies that's used in The Walking Dead. Overall, the remake of Night of the Living Dead is worth a glance, but it's nothing special.
