Review of Night of the Living Dead (1968) by Jose M — 03 Oct 2010
Ironic, Night of the Living Dead is a cult classic and considered an exploitable film. It might not be gory as today's films, but around it's time, it was crossing the line to a lot of people. What was too far or exploitable, was it the mother being stabbed multiple times by her own daughter? The cannibalization scene were to crispped up folk are served? The scene where law enforcement is made up of only Caucasians? Or the lampoon and references of the Vietnam War? George A.
Romero made a fine film, but it would be the sequel to this that made him a force to be reckon with. I originally gave this film 4 stars, but gave it another star after seeing it on a late night with Elvira.
It was an awesome experience.
