To me, this movie had a very weak beginning that was actually laughable, and very pathetic in it's acting. However, this movie finally finds something firm to stand on as it delivers a news-style reporting that helps keep the viewer frightened and entertained as well as some of the socialism and unease between the characters.

Romero does a nice job of not leaving that many plot holes in this movie as I thought there would be for a movie of this particular genre and time period it was made. Yes, the visuals at the beginning to middle are cheesy, and so is the acting, but you're going to have to learn to get through that and realize that Romero is setting you up for something better and juicier.

The latter half of the middle to the end is a bottled up joy ride that is very kinetic and gets your blood flowing. And who can forget the ending to the movie? Not that I didn't say out loud what was going to happen, but the fact that it did and that everyone in the movie was okay with it, was startling.

Personally, for me, there wasn't enough of a narrative structure between all the characters to keep substance in the movie 24/7, but after you see it, you'll want to see it again.
