Night of the living dead 1968 is a very good film which has been a big influence on the horror genre with the concept of zombies and suspense in a clostrephobic setting. The film has been a big inspiration on the Resident Evil game franchise, especially the first two games and countless films.
Night of the living dead is not only a groundbreaking horror film done on a shoestring budget by the very talented George Romero and his crew, the film has also social commentary undertones that deal with government, racism, and a society in crisis.
The recommended blu ray to get of this film is the Criterion collection edition that was released on the 26th of February this year. The picture and sound quality is sublime compared to other releases.
