Review of Night of the Creeps (1986) by Matt Kelly! — 19 Jun 2008
Is this the greatest horror movie ever made? No. Is this the second coming of horror films? absolutely not. Do I wish more horror movies were like this? Stylistically? yes. There are a large chunk of flaws and problems I have with this movie (specifically the last 4 seconds of it) but the fact that it decided to not focus on a real score with "jump cues" is something I don't miss seeing.
In the first 30 seconds it's obviously that stylistically this takes most of it's notes from (in my opinion) the greatest horror movie ever made 1974's Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This continues all the way through the movie specifically the most crucial element of this movie (something they screwed up in the TCM remake) there's a reason to NEVER show leatherface's real face.
.. it's creepier that way. This movie isn't the scariest movie ever... but it is quite creepy.
