Review of Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) by Randy E — 06 Mar 2005
Michael Jayston and Janet Suzman (oscar nominated performance) star in this 1971 retelling of their tragic demise. My favorite historical figure Rasputin is brilliantly portrayed by Tom Baker (also nominated), though he does not get enough screen time.
Franklin J. Schaffner is the capable diretor of this historical drama. Lavish production about events leading up to the Russian Revolution. Very good and held my interest the entire 3 hour length.
