Review of Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) by Sanity Assassin ! — 05 Apr 2008
Really long film (epic) about the last tsar pre world war one and during. he was a bit of a pleb really. you can understand why lenin got his way as he was helping the people and the tsar was doing everything but that as well as the complete opposite e.
G. killing them. anyhow, refreshing to see a film about a subject I didn't know much about. I liked tom baker as rasputin the priest. he's always fun to watch. no blue phone box in sight though.
franklin j. schaffer most notably also directed "patton" amongst some other good films... so you can get the gist of the kind of good storytelling you're gonna get.
