Review of Next Gen (2018) by Amanda B — 07 Sep 2018
I wouldn't recommend it. Not for young kids anyhow. Dog that swears all the time and isn't funny. And a girl who makes a robot do all this violence to people and objects that look cute. The violent scenes all last for over an hour in the movie before anything good happens. Very neglectful mother throughout the film. One dark moment the girl almost beats a girl with a bat. Over 10 for sure. Not too happy with this movie. I was hoping for a feel good movie. She's so angry and depressed and takes it out on the world for most of the movie! Near the end my 7 year old said "Shut it off!" He was scared. The zombie scene was awful, both boys hide under covers including the 9 year old. Not happy. Also, as a robot lover... 90% of the robots are evil. They do not adhere to the 3 robotics laws:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
Anyhow, Not too impressed. Didn't really laugh at any jokes if there was any. The 'heart warming parts were very rushed. Overall not a great show for kids.
