Very underwhelmed by this. Hanks and Greengrass are A-listers but this is poor fare. Injecting 21st-century socio-political ideas into the 19th century is a dumb idea. Having clichéd cardboard cut-out baddies and Hanks as a total goodie two shoes isn't smart either.
The pacing is far too slow. The CGI weak and the cinematography of gritty, dusty, and dirty is not that original and has been done better and more realistically even on TV like Deadwood. If it concentrated on news reading it could have been a lot better.
Disappointing.
