Review of New York Stories (1989) by Hamad S — 27 Jan 2008
This compilation is losing stars not because of Woody Allen's piece, but because of Coppola's (surprise!). Scorsese, as usual, does a great job portraying the love-angst of a famous New York artist, Coppola shows that he too can disastrously make a movie on childhood 'adventures' and Allen again centers on himself a story about a lawyer with mother issues.
What I liked best was the length of the movies - these film-makers are best in small doses.
