Review of New York Stories (1989) by Ana T — 02 Oct 2008
I've only seen Scorsese's, but from what I hear, it's the only one that's worth anything anyway. I'll have to agree. By the late 80s both Woody Allen and Coppola had already begun their slow descent into mediocrity.
Life Lessons is totally sweet. Nick Nolte is amazing as the artist whose sexual frustration and hunger for human conflict fuels his artistic endeavors. Great music. Kinda pushes the boundary of how long a short film should be (45 minutes? Jeeesus) but it's so worth it.
Especially Steve Buscemi's small role.
