Review of New Year's Eve (2011) by Guitjoo T — 27 May 2012
New Years Eve was enjoyable mostly because I just had fun watching it with my girlfriend, but good god would I not recommend it to anyone. The movie is an exact clone of Valentines Day from 2009 which is a very interesting fact because it has the same exact director, actors and the storyline so so so familiar.
Theres a ton of actors and actresses packed into this movie and we just never get to care about any of them. They all do connect, but it's not as smooth as some movies like Crash. The movie has a very sweet laid back tone to it, but so much of it could have been cut.
Theres a lot of subplots that were just stupid. Katherine Heigls and Jon Bon Jovi's scenes coulda been removed and I'd probably bumped this film half a star up. Halle Berry was unecessary, Jessica Biels character was just dumb.
..you get the point. I'd say rent this if only you were super super super super super curious!
