Review of New Year's Eve (2011) by Jiana W — 21 Aug 2012
As far as feel-good, sappy movies go, I like the style that this movie uses -- which we also see in "Valentine's Day" and "Love Actually" -- where we have a glimpse into the lives of a seemingly random group of people who are all going through some significant relationship experience, be it with a parent or child, spouse, new love, friend, or whatever.
I know that critics hate movies like this, and it's true that it's not award-worthy, but if you watch this and don't get touched on some level, emotionally, through any of these characters' stories, then you are a probably a heartless robot. An alien heartless robot. Made by heartless aliens. With no hearts. Just sayin'.
