Review of New Year's Eve (2011) by Debanjan C — 01 Dec 2012
A multi-starrer, filled with a bunch of well-known Hollywood stars can swing anyway. Even an average script can make the movie mildly likable (as was the case with Valentine's day). However, New Year's Eve gets things horribly wrong.
Why? Because the script is horrible. New Year's Eve follows a bunch of intertwining stories on the eve of New Year's in NYC but not even one of the stories have any sort of conviction to them.
All the stories seem completely un-necessary and pointless and you fail to relate to any of the characters. For a moment, I hoped that the movie would be over in a little over an hour and it should have been because it is pretty much a long stretch from then on.
In the end, New Year's Eve is the perfect example that a good movie isn't made by filling it with 10-15 A-listers.
