Review of New World (2013) by Reini U — 27 Mar 2013
This movie contributes a solid new entry in the undercover cop/gangster movie. Its the tale of lowly Ja-Sung, an undercover cop who has been imbedded with criminals for ten years.
His wife is pregnant, his superior wants to keep him in longer, and the boss dies. This leaves a vacant seat for power, and the dogs come running when they smell power.
Its a solid crime thriller that moves along at a stolid pace, and its plot sucks you in with intrigue and shifting sides. Good acting and some rapid fire set pieces make for a gritty and bloody gangster movie from Korea.
