Review of New Waterford Girl (1999) by Abdon C — 29 Jun 2008
This was a really great film. I missed the first 10 minutes and kept expecting it to degenerate into some typical teen drama or feminist hippy nonsense, and was pleasantly surprised to find it is neither.
The characters are reminiscent of small town locals I've seen for myself, complete with limited expectations and understanding of the wider world. I didn't even realise it was set in the 70s until I saw an 8 track tape. Great film, great plot, well rounded and believable characters.
