Review of New in Town (2009) by Anna Mae T — 10 Jul 2009
I found the characters in this movie charming. They may be cliched, but exaggerated characters are funny. I thought the PG rating made this film very family friendly. I also thought that the themes of economic misfortune would ring true for a lot of people.
Evidently not. Sure, like any romantic comedy the plot is predictable. But I enjoyed the slower movement of the movie and the realistic time span it covered. Very good morals woven into the story. I liked the jokes in this movie--simple but funny.
I'm sorry to say it, but I think people just missed the cussing and cruder jokes. Otherwise it might have gotten good scores like all the idiotic "stupid dude movies" being churned out.
