Review of New in Town (2009) by Charlie D — 21 Oct 2010

Award winning actress Renée Zellweger stars as Lucy Hill the Miami buissness woman who gets assigned to oversee the restructuring of a blue-collar manufacturing plant in a remote town in Minnesota.

She receives a chilly reception from the locals and she doesn't make a good impression on the town's handsome union representative, Ted (Harry Connick, Jr), whom she later falls for later in the movie.

After her Bridget Jones success, you'd think that Miss Renée would bring some of the warmth and humour to the cold, community run town but sadly she doesn't. The film lacks both the romantic and humour aspects to 'Rom Com' genre Hollywood has so carelessly put it under. The storyline is a bit of a flop, and the jokes don't fall to far behind.

So I award New in Town a 40 out of 100 tomatoes, I'm sure like myself, Renée would like to forget about her role in the film.
