Even though I haven't seen the upcoming Psycho Legacy documentary, I am going to say with absolute confidence that Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is THE best documentary regarding horror cinema EVER.

Yes, this is the guy who loves Best Worst Movie, Nightmares in Red White & Blue, His Name was Jason, etc, but Never Sleep Again stands above them all as the most in-depth, meticulous, and all-encompassing of the bunch.

Gathering over a hundred important figures in the ANOES franchise (sans the big shots like Johnny Depp, Patricia Arquette, and Laurence Fishburne of course), Never Sleep Again takes a very hard look at each and every Nightmare on Elm Street film, with those involved providing interesting anecdotes, gossip, and retrospectives on every one.

To further delight a real fan like myself, there's not one single mention of the abortion remake that just came out. With the likes of Wes Craven, Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp (who also narrates), John Saxon, Renny Harlin, and every one else you could imagine, all discuss the joys and pains this marvelous franchise covers.

The movie hits upon many cool concepts and even answers long lingering questions about certain aspects of the film like missing footage, New Line Cinema drama, the homoeroticism of Part 2, Freddy vs. Jason mix-ups, and so on.

When diving into this epic beast, be prepared to actually encounter a genuine epic beast, as the film runs four and a half hours long. That's right! However, if you're a real fan of the franchise, that 4 and a half hours will fly by.

I'd also recommend checking out the second disc which provides even MORE footage that was cut from the final product, yet still interesting and engaging to watch. Overall, I'm dead serious when I say Best Documentary EVER!!! I loved it.
