Review of Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010) by Ian B — 20 Aug 2013
This definitive, and fascinating, documentary about the making of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise is something die hard fans (like myself) will absolutely love...and is actually more entertaining that half the sequels in the series! Even casual movie fans will get a kick outta the amount of bizarrely awesome info given away here (like how Peter Jackson was set to make Freddy's Dead).
Even at four hours long this doc moves extremely fast thanks to the amount of people involved from the series, the crazy stories they have to tell and a surprising amount of humour. From the inception of New Line Cinema, to Freddy's takeover of America in the late 80's and his eventual brawl with fellow horror icon, Jason.
..it's all covered here in extreme detail and truly shows what an impact these films, and this character, have had on pop culture. Highly recommended!
