12 years after he quit playing "James Bond" Sean Connery returned to the role that made him famous in this "unofficial" remake of THUNDERBALL which was updated to the early 1980s (SPECTRE is not trying to hijack a nuclear-armed bomber but is trying to steal two cruise missiles).

So its not one of the MGM/UA EON production Bonds and John Barry's famous theme music is missed. Its pretty good though, the last time that the ageing Connery could play this type of film convincingly.

The cast includes the great Klaus Maria Brandauer as the psychotic SPECTRE heavy, Max Von Sydow as Blofeld (head of SPECTRE), Barbara Carrera as Fatima the SPECTRE femme Fatale, Kim Bassinger as Domino, and Bernie Casey as Felix, Bond's CIA buddy.

Also along for the ride is James Fox as M and a young Rowan Atkinson as a blundering British diplomat. Worth a look.
