Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by John G — 06 Jan 2012
A love triangle develops in an english boarding school although we soon learn that things are much darker than they seem. Their education is uninspired because the students are merely clones, created in order to provide body part transplants to people in the "real" society.
The characters, and their relationships develop slowly as they mature, and wait for their fate. I found this movie one of the most depressing I have ever seen, the characters had no fight in them, only resigned acceptance (which is I guess understandable given their upbringing).
So, no exciting escape (like in "The Island), just a long and gloomy wait for the inevitable. Well acted, intriguing but also slow and depressing, not everyone's cup of tea.
