Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Kevin P — 15 Jul 2012
Having just finished reading the novel, I was reminded what a great adaptation this Romanek outing is. The bleak, inevitability of the book is beautifully captured with fantastic, powerful visuals which also emphasize the poignant mood of the narrative.
Some solid acting touched with spells of brilliance really brings the characters to life and creates a truly moving account of a fictional "past-future" from a clone's perspective. Wonderfully understated and never losing it's subtly, the film retains all those troublesome moral questions and a distinct and disturbing sense of plausibility.
Dystopian sci-fi at it's nausea-inducing best.
