I remember watching this film in Social Studies class when I was eight years old. It made quite the impact. Seeing it today, its strengths are its visuals and subtle storytelling methods. Brave performance from Smith.
Curtis Hanson helped pen this script too. Ballard receive some attention for his direction and has been observing animals ever since.
