Review of Network (1976) by Don T — 04 Sep 2009
I have a special love for this movie. It came out the same year I did (1976). The performances are supreme, the screenplay (by Paddy Chayefsky) is one of the best ever, and Lumet's direction is perfectly concise and sublime.
I have loved this movie for years, since I first saw it over a decade ago, and I encourage anyone who has seen it in the past to go back and watch it today. It's interesting how relevant the movie has become in today's media culture...almost as if Chayefsky saw into the future when he wrote this.
